He obtained his Bachelor of Laws Degree from Siliman University and Masters in National Security Administration post graduate studies from National Defense College of the Philippines. He passed the Bar examinations of the Philippines in 1976.

Prior to joining Home Guaranty Corporation, he held management roles in various capacities both in the government and private sectors.
